Introduction2-12 COBE ® Spectra™ Apheresis System • Essentials GuideMiscellaneous Keys and IndicatorsStatus LEDs (located directly above the MUTE key):• Green LED: Steady green LED indicates alarm or warningconditions are not present, all alarms are enabled, and all safetysystems are activated. Occurs only during the Run mode.• Warning LED: Flashing yellow LED indicates a warning condition,or signals the start of a Harvest phase during an AutoPBSCprocedure. A steady yellow Warning LED indicates a temporaryoverride of a warning condition, or the Spectra system is notperforming the Run mode. Some alarms are disabled during thePrime and Rinseback modes.• Alarm LED: Flashing red LED indicates an alarm condition. Asteady red Alarm LED indicates a temporary override of the alarmcondition.MUTE key: Press to temporarily silence an alarm. The alarm stays silentfor 2 minutes or until a higher-priority alarm occurs.ACCESS PRESSURE bar graph: Displays pressure using 18 bars at25 mm Hg intervals. The top bar represents 25 mm Hg; the bottom barrepresents –400 mm Hg. The first yellow bar corresponds to the defaultwarning limit (–200 mm Hg).UNLOCK COVER key: Press to unlock the centrifuge cover and doorwhen the centrifuge is completely stopped. The latches remain open for20 seconds.STOP SPIN key:1 Press STOP SPIN to stop the centrifuge, stop the pumps, andpause the system. The Pause LED flashes. The return line valvecloses once the centrifuge stops.2 Press PAUSE/CONTINUE to restart the centrifuge and pumpsand open the return line valve.3 Press PAUSE/CONTINUE again when the centrifuge is up tospeed and the Spectra system displays the “Centrifuge up to speed.CONTINUE” screen.Manual LED (red LED): Illuminates when the Spectra system is inManual mode.MANUAL key: Press to enter Manual mode, which allows you tocontrol the pump flow rates, centrifuge speed, and valve positions.Enabled only during Run mode or after Prime mode whendonor/patient data entry is complete. Also illuminates the Manual LED.Press while the Manual LED is illuminated to return to Automaticmode, which allows the software to control the pump and centrifugespeeds. For more information, see Chapter 6, “Automatic and ManualModes.”VALVE key: Press to move valves independent of the software. See “TheVALVE Key” on page 5-14 for more information.CHANGE MODE key: Press to change the mode of operation. Modesof operation include Load Set, Prime, Run, Rinseback, Unload Set, andDiagnostics. See “The CHANGE MODE Key” on page 5-17 for moreinformation.Menu LED (green LED above the MENU ON/OFF key): Illuminateswhen using the menu system.MENU ON/OFF key:1 Press MENU ON/OFF to enter the menu system. The first menuappears and the Menu LED illuminates.2 Press ENTER to view additional menus. If you do not make aselection, after 30 seconds the menu disappears.Note: Any action which places Spectra system in the Manualmode during an LRS or LRST procedure requires labmeasurement of the platelet and WBC content of the collectedproduct. |
