The door gasketis essential for a good seal. Care should betaken not to rub, damage or move the gasket.■ Clean only parts listed in this Owner’s Manual.■ If the self-cleaning mode malfunctions,turn the oven off and disconnect the powersupply. Have it serviced by a qualifiedtechnician.■ Do not use oven cleaners. No commercialoven cleaner or oven liner of any kind shouldbe used in or around any part of the oven.Residue from oven cleaners will damage theinside of the oven when the self-clean cycleis used.SELF-CLEANING UPPER OVEN■ Do not use the oven for a storage area.Items stored in the oven can ignite.■ Keep the oven free from grease buildup.■ Place the oven racks in the desired positionwhile the oven is cool. If racks must behandled when hot, do not let pot holdercontact the heating elements.■ Pulling out the rack to the stop-lock is aconvenience in lifting heavy foods. It is alsoa precaution against burns from touching hotsurfaces of the door or oven walls. The lowestposition “R” is not designed to slide.■ Do not heat unopened food containers.Pressure could build up and the containercould burst, causing an injury.■ When using cooking or roasting bags in theoven, follow the manufacturer’s directions.■ Do not use your oven to dry newspapers.If overheated, they can catch fire.■ Do not leave paper products, cooking utensilsor food in the oven when not in use.■ Keep the oven vent unobstructed.■ Make sure any broiler pan is in place correctlyto reduce the possibility of grease fires.■ If you should have a grease fire in a broilerpan, press the Clear/Off pad and keepthe oven door closed to contain fire untilit burns out.■ Never place, use or self-clean the lower ovendrawer pan in the upper oven.Stand away from the range when opening the door of a hot oven. The hot air and steam that escapecan cause burns to hands, face and eyes.UPPER OVENCOOK MEAT AND POULTRY THOROUGHLY…Cook meat and poultry thoroughly—meat to at least an INTERNAL temperature of 160°F and poultryto at least an INTERNAL temperature of 180°F. Cooking to these temperatures usually protects againstfoodborne illness.
