5-318 F60 FEEDER PROTECTION SYSTEM – INSTRUCTION MANUALINPUTS/OUTPUTS CHAPTER 5: SETTINGS5There are 64 virtual inputs that can be individually programmed to respond to input signals from the keypad (via theCOMMANDS menu) and communications protocols. All virtual input operands are defaulted to “Off” (logic 0) unless theappropriate input signal is received. If the VIRTUAL INPUT x FUNCTION is to “Disabled,” the input is forced to off (logic 0) regardless of any attempt to alter theinput. If set to “Enabled,” the input operates as shown on the logic diagram and generates output FlexLogic operands inresponse to received input signals and the applied settings. There are two types of operation: self-reset and latched. If VIRTUAL INPUT x type is “Self-Reset,” when the input signaltransits from off to on, the output operand is set to on for only one evaluation of the FlexLogic equations and then return tooff. If set to “Latched,” the virtual input sets the state of the output operand to the same state as the most recent receivedinput. The self-reset operating mode generates the output operand for a single evaluation of the FlexLogic equations. If theoperand is to be used anywhere other than internally in a FlexLogic equation, it likely needs to be lengthened in time. AFlexLogic timer with a delayed reset can perform this function.Figure 5-175: Virtual inputs logic5.10.3 Contact outputs5.10.3.1 Digital outputsSETTINGS INPUTS/OUTPUTS CONTACT OUTPUTS CONTACT OUTPUT H1A contact inputs and outputs are digital signals associated with connections to hard-wired contacts. Wet and dry contactsare supported.Upon startup of the relay, the main processor determines from an assessment of the modules installed in the chassiswhich contact outputs are available and then presents the settings for only these outputs. Where the contact input is non-latching, the settings are as shown. An ID can be assigned to each contact output. The signal that can OPERATE a contact output can be any FlexLogicoperand (virtual output, element state, contact input, or virtual input). An additional FlexLogic operand can be used toSEAL-IN the relay. Any change of state of a contact output can be logged as an Event if programmed to do so.
