DON'TOVERLOADGENERATORCapacityYou must make sure your generator can supply enough rated(running) and surge (starting) watts for the items you willpower at the same time. Foliow these simple steps:1. Select the items you wiii power at the same time.2. Total the rated (running) watts of these items. This isthe amount of power your generator must produce tokeep your items running.3. Estimate how many surge (starting) watts you wiii need.Surge wattage is the short burst of power needed tostart electric motor-driven toois or appliances such as acircular saw or refrigerator. Because not aii motors startat the same time, totai surge watts can be estimated byadding only the item(s) with the higilest additionalsurge watts to the total rated watts from step 2.Example:Tool or ApplianceWindow AirConditionerRefrigeratorDeep FreezerTelevisionU,ht _75 Watts'Rated(Running) Watts12008OO5O050O753075 TotalRunning WattsTotal Rated (Running) WattsHighestAdditional Surge WattsTotal Generator Output RequiredAdditional Surge(Starting) Watts180016005OO1800 HighestSurge Watts= 3075= 1800= 4875NOTE:The rated (running) watts cannot exceed 5600. Also, given the 5600 watt rated iimit, additional surge (starting)watts cannot exceed 8600.Pewer ManagementTo prolong the iife of your generator and attached devices, itis important to take care when adding electrical loads to yourgenerator. There shouid be nothing connected to thegenerator outlets before starting it's engine. The correct andsafe way to managegenerator power is to sequentially addloads as follows:1. With nothing connected to the generator, start theengine as described in this manual.2. Hug in and turn on the first ioad, preferably the largestload you have.3. Permit the generator output to stabiiize (engine runssmoothly and attached device operates properly).4. Hug in and turn on the next ioad.5. Again, permit the generator to stabiiize.6. Repeatsteps 4 and 5 for each additional load.NEVERadd more loads than the generator capacity. Takespeciai care to consider surge loads in generator capacity, asdescribed above.Tool or ApplianceEssentialsL_ht Bulb - 75 wattDeep FreezerSump PumpRefrigerator/Freezer- 18 Cu.
