Replace if perforated or torn.2 Service more often under dirty or dusty conditions.GeneralRecommendationsRegular maintenance will improve the performance andextend the life of the pressure washer. See any Sears orother qualified service dealer for service.The pressure washer warranty does not cover items thathave been subjected to operator abuse or negligence. Toreceive full value from the warranty, the operator mustmaintain pressure washer as instructed in this manualincluding proper storage as detailed in Storage.Some adjustments will need to be made periodically toproperly maintain your pressure washer.All service and adjustments should be made at least onceeach season. Follow the requirements in the MaintenanceSchedule chart above.NOTICE Oncea year you should clean or replace the sparkplug and replace the air filter. A new spark plug and clean airfilter assure proper fuel-air mixture and help your engine runbetter and last longer.Pump OilDO NOT attempt any oil maintenance on this pump. Thepump is pre-iubricated and sealedfrom the factory, requiringno additional maintenancefor the life of the pump.EmissionsControlMaintenance, replacement, or repair of the emissionscontroldevices and systemsmay be performed by any non-road engine repair establishment or individual. However,to obtain "no charge" emissions control service, the workmust be performed by a factory authorized dealer. SeetheEmissions Warranty.Before EachUse1. Checkengine oil level.2. Cleandebris.3. Checkwater inlet screen for damage.4. Checkhigh pressure hose for leaks.5. Checkgun and nozzle extension assembly for leaks.6. Purge pump of air and contaminants.PRESSUREWASHERMAINTENANCEClean DebrisDaily or before use, clean accumulated debris from pressurewasher. Keeplinkage, spring and controls clean. Keep areaaround and behind muffler free from any combustible debris.inspect cooling air slots and openings on the pressurewasher. These openings must be kept clean andunobstructed.Pressure washer parts should be kept clean to reduce therisk of overheating and ignition of accumulated debris.• Use a damp cloth to wipe exterior surfaces clean.NOTICE improper treatment of pressure washer coulddamage it and shorten its life.• DONOTinsertanyobjectsthroughcoolingslots.• Use a soft bristle brush to loosen caked on dirt, oil, etc.• Use a vacuum cleaner to pick up loose dirt and debris.Checkand Clean Inlet ScreenExaminegarden hose inlet screen. Cleanif it is clogged orreplace if it is torn.CheckHigh Pressure HoseHigh pressure hoses can develop leaks from wear, kinking,or abuse, inspect hose before each use. Check for cuts,leaks, abrasions, bulging of cover, or damage or movementof couplings. If any of these conditions exist, replace hoseimmediately._i_ WARNING The high pressure stream of water thatthis equipment produces could cut through skinand its underlying tissues, resulting in seriousinjury and possible amputation., NEVERrepairhigh pressurehose.Replaceit.• ReplacementhoseratingMUSTequalor exceedmaximumpressureratingof unit.18 |
