The print head holder automaticallymoves to the center.Press the Power button.Plug the power cord into the back of theprinter and connect the other end to apower outlet.Remove all shipping tape from the frontand sides of the printer.Write down the serial number located tothe right of the print head. You will needthis later to register the product.PowerLampPowerButtonSerial numberOutput TrayShippingTapeRemove the black ink tank (BCI-24 Black)from its package and pull off the orangeprotective cap.NOTE: To avoid spilling ink, do not touchthe bottom of the tank once you haveremoved the protective cap.Insert the black ink tank into the slot onthe right, then push in until the ink tanklocks into place.Close the front cover, attach the paper restand pull out the output tray.Protective capClickRepeat the procedure for the color inktank (BCI-24 Color), inserting it into theremaining slot.Continue with Step 6on side two.USB CableUSB PortIMPORTANT: Be sure printer isoff before continuing, or thecomputer will attempt to installthe printer driver before theprinter is ready.Connect one end of a USB cable (notincluded) to the computer, the other tothe printer.Turn the printer off.Remove the print head from its package.NOTE: Do not touch the electrical contactson the back and bottom of the print head.Raise the gray lock lever on the printer.Slide the print head into the holder untilit is securely seated.Do not press it down.Lower the lever until it locks into place.Remove the orange protective cap.ElectricalcontactsTear at notch to open12341543121234122 Prepare the Printer1 Unpack the Printer 3 Install the Print Head 4 Install the Ink Tanks 5 Connect the PrinterTo Your Computer
