Recording Video and Photos42Using the FanThe camcorder uses an internal cooling fan to reduce the camcorder’s internal heat.1 Select [Fan].> [B ! System Setup] > [Fan]2 Touch the desired option and then touch [X].OptionsIMPORTANT• While the fan is running, the exhaust vent will emit warm air.• Be careful not to obstruct in any way the fan's air vents (A 13).Onscreen DisplaysRefer to this section for an explanation of the various screen displays that appear in mode. The onscreendisplays that actually appear at any time will vary depending on the current menu settings and operating mode.[k Automatic]: The fan runs while the camcorder is not recording and it is automatically turned off while thecamcorder is recording video (while the Ü icon appears at the top of the screen). However, ifthe internal temperature of the camcorder is too high, the fan will be activated automatically (inthat case, ` will appear next to the b icon). When the camcorder’s temperature hasdecreased sufficiently, the fan will be turned off. Use this setting when you do not want thecamcorder to pick up the fan's operating sound.[i On]: The fan runs at all times. Use this default setting in most cases.
