Pinch the paper guide and slide it tothe left. Load a few sheets of blank paperinto the auto sheet feeder, then slide thepaper guide toward the left edge of the paper.3PaperGuideAuto SheetFeederSlide the print head into the holder.The print head will rest at a slight angle.Remove the print head from its package.Remove the orange protective capfrom the print head.NOTE: Do not touch the print head nozzlesand the electrical contacts.Lower the print head lock lever and pressit down until it clicks into place.Raise the print head lock lever.Electrical ContactsPrint Head NozzlesTear at notch to openPlug the power cord into the back of theprinter and connect the other end to apower outlet. Press the POWER button.The printer will initialize.Lower the front cover. Raise the top cover.Remove the shipping tape and lower theinner cover.The print head holder automatically movesto the center. Remove the protective tape.Write down the serial number located tothe right of the print head holder . You willneed this later to register the product.Remove the shipping tape from thefront and back of the printer.POWERButtonPOWERLampSerial NumberProtective TapeInner CoverTop CoverFront CoverPIXMA iP3000 SeriesPhoto PrinterCarefully remove all items from the box.Documentationand Software KitPeel back the orange tab and completelyremove the plastic wrapper from the YellowInk Tank (BCI-6Y).Twist off and discard the orange protective cap.Insert the remaining three ink tanks intotheir assigned slots.Close the inner cover, then the top cover.Lift open the paper support and extend thepaper output tray.Power CordPIXMA iP3000 SeriesPrint HeadNOTE: The printer will perform a print headcleaning.
