Be careful whenclosing the LCD panel.Do not leave the camcorder in placessubject to high temperatures (like theinside of a car under direct sunlight), orhigh humidity.Do not use the camcorder near strongelectric or magnetic fields such as aboveTVs, near plasma TVs or mobile phones.Do not point the lens or viewfinder atstrong light sources. Do not leave thecamcorder pointed at a bright subject.Do not use or store the camcorder industy or sandy places. The camcorder isnot waterproof – avoid also water, mud orsalt. If any of the above should get intothe camcorder it may damage thecamcorder and/or the lens. Be sure toclose the disc compartment cover afteruse.Be careful of heat generated by lightingequipment.Do not disassemble the camcorder. Ifthe camcorder does not function properly,consult qualified service personnel.Handle the camcorder with care. Do notsubject the camcorder to shocks orvibration as this may cause damage.Battery PackCharged battery packs continue todischarge naturally. Therefore, chargethem on the day of use, or the day before,to ensure a full charge.Contact of the battery terminals withmetallic objects may cause a short circuitand damage the battery pack.Dirty terminals may cause a poorcontact between the battery pack and thecamcorder. Wipe the terminals with a softcloth.Since storing a charged battery pack fora long time (about 1 year) can shorten itslifecycle or affect performance, werecommend to discharge the battery packfully and to store it in a dry place attemperatures no higher than 30 °C(86 °F). If you do not use the battery packfor long periods, charge and discharge itfully at least once a year. If you havemore than one battery pack, performthese precautions at the same time for allbattery packs.Although the battery pack’s operatingtemperature range is from 0 °C to 40 °C(32 °F to 104 °F), the optimal range isfrom 10 °C to 30 °C (50 °F to 86 °F). Atcold temperatures, performance willtemporarily decline. Warm it in yourpocket before use.Handling PrecautionsDANGER!Treat the battery pack with care.• Keep it away from fire (or it mightexplode).• Do not expose the battery pack totemperature higher than 60 °C (140 °F).Do not leave it near a heater or inside acar in hot weather.• Do not try to disassemble or modify it.• Do not drop or knock it.• Do not get it wet.
