4. Getting StartedStage descriptionStage 1 : Projector is switched off. Input & Communication Unit is not active and the laser status light (LS) is off.Stage 2 : Projector is projector is booting. This process starts as soon as the power switch is switched on (reference A, image 4-4).This process takes several seconds and during this process the Power On/Off button is blinking white. The laser status light remainsoff.Stage 3 : Initialization. This process starts as soon as the projector has finished booting up. The initialization of all electronicboards takes approximately two minutes and during this process the backlight of the Power On/Off button is blinking blue. The laserstatus light remains off.Stage 4 : Projector is READY. All electronic boards are up and running. On the local keypad the OK button, Shutter button and theMenu Activation button become active. The backlight of the Power on/off button is white. The laser status light remains off.Stage 5 : The projector is in CONDITIONING mode. This process starts as soon as the On/Off button is pressed when the projectoris in READY mode (reference B, image 4-4). The shutter automatically closes in this stage for laser safety reasons. The laser statuslight remains off.The first stage of the CONDITIONING process is the environmental checks. In this stage, the projector verifies if it is safe to turn onthe pump of the cooling circuit and to extract humidity from the sealed compartments without having the risk of condensation. Thetemperature inside the sealed compartments is kept on ambient level.Once the projector has confirmed it is safe to start conditioning, the conditioning process itself will start. This is indicated by thelaser status light (LS) on the top of the projector. This light will flash a few times and will then light up continuously white. Thesealed compartments are cooling down from ambient to operating temperature and humidity is extracted. The conditioning processtakes approximately 3 to 20 minutes (exact time depends on the environmental conditions).Following substages take place during CONDITIONING:Stage 6.1 : Checking ambient and internal conditions.Stage 6.2 : Turning pump on. Reaching liquid flow target.Stage 6.3 : Flow target reached. Conditioning humidity in the projector.Stage 6.4 : Cooling started.Stage 6.5 : Reaching liquid temperature target.Stage 6 : Projector is CONDITIONED and ON. Temperature and humidity inside the sealed compartments are within specificationsand the lasers are activated. The backlight of the On/Off button is blue. Once you press the Shutter button (reference C, image 4-4),the image will be projected on the screen (if a source has been selected or a test pattern is active). The laser status light on the topof the projector lights up white. While the shutter is closed (backlight of Shutter button is red) the laser power is set to minimum power and aprotective test pattern is projected. This to protect the DMDs and Shutter itself. When you open the shutteragain, the projector will resume the previous power settings.Stage 7 : Projector is in DECONDITIONING mode. This process starts as soon as the On/Off button is pressed for 3 seconds(reference D, image 4-4) while the projector is in conditioning or conditioned mode. The DECONDITIONING mode brings the systemback to the READY mode. The laser status light on the top of the projector remains lighting up white. The sealed compartmentsare brought back to ambient temperature and humidity extraction is stopped. The deconditioning process can take up to 15 minutes(depending on the environmental conditions). During this process the backlight of the Power On/Off button is blinking white. If the projector is left alone for several minutes while it is in READY mode, the projector will automatically go into STANDBY mode. You can also go from Ready to Standby mode by pushing the On/Off button for 3 seconds.Stage 8 : Projector is in STANDBY mode. The Input & Communication Unit remains running, but only the On/Off button is activeand solid white. The shutter button turns off. The laser status light remains off.By pressing the On/Off button, you activate the projector and go to CONDITIONING mode (effectively skipping Ready mode). Alter-natively, you can transition to READY mode instead. Do this by pressing the (non-lit) Menu button for three seconds.4.5 Using the RCUPointing to the reflective screen1.
