By means of the options the color mode can beBy means of the options the color mode can bedetermined. If the utility is called without option, the X server settings that were assigned in the X.11 configura-tion are applied. Thus the utility enables to change the color mode without the necessity to run through the X.11configuration. The following options are available:option meaningpseudo Restart X server in PseudoColor mode, 8 bpptrue Restart X server in TrueColor mode, 16 bppdirect Restart X server in DirectColor mode, 16 bpptrue32 Restart X server in TrueColor mode, 32 bppdirect32 Restart X server in DirectColor mode, 32 bppTable 4-41options of service mmtservvice mmtservTo restart the X server in TrueColor mode, with 32 bpp color depth the following input would be necessary:service mmtserv true32Alternatively the X server can by restarted by means of the entries in the work menu of the window manager,k menu of the window manager,please refer to section 4.5 Window manager.Please keep in mind that a higher color depth requires also a higher bandwidth for graphicdata.In addition, changing the color mode of the X server might change the color mode of videoor RGB and lead therefore also to an increase in required bandwidth for video, please referto section 4.2.2 Color capabilities of Argus to see which video color mode applies for which Xserver color mode and to section 4.6.1 The input cards to see the required bandwidth for videoand RGB.Both effects might lead to a loss of performance!
