3-11Storage ManagerThe complete logical device address is composed of the followingfields:Array groups are automatically assigned an address thatcorresponds to the lowest logical device address used by a device inthat array group. When an array group has been created, its logical device addressdoes not change if the drive with the lowest ID is replaced by a hotspare. When a hot spare replacement occurs, the failed driveautomatically becomes the new hot spare. If you choose not to usethat drive as a hot spare, Storage Manager prompts you to select anunused logical device address for that drive.ExampleIf the lowest member device address for an array is HBA:0 Bus:1ID:12 LUN:0, the LSU address is HBA:0 Bus:1 ID:12 LUN:0.HBA The controller to which the device is attached. PCI bus slotsare scanned from lowest to highest looking for Adapteccontrollers. As Adaptec controllers are found, they areassigned numbers incrementally, starting with 0.Bus Channel number of the channel to which the device isattached.LUN The LUN for that device is normally 0.Device The unique ID for that device. For an array this is thelowest ID among the drives that make up the array.
