If you need to park your vehicle foran extended period (more than 1month), there are several things youshould do to prepare it for storage.Proper preparation helps preventdeterioration and makes it easier toget your vehicle back on the road. Ifpossible, store your vehicle indoors.● Fill the fuel tank.● Wash and dry the exteriorcompletely.● Clean the interior. Make sure thecarpeting, floor mats, etc., arecompletely dry.● Leave the parking brake off. Putthe transmission in Park.● Block the rear wheels.● If the vehicle is to be stored for alonger period, it should besupported on jackstands so thetires are off the ground.● Leave one window open slightly (ifthe vehicle is being storedindoors).● Disconnect the battery.● Support the front and rear wiperblade arms with a folded towel orrag so they do not touch thewindshield.● To minimize sticking, apply asilicone spray lubricant to all doorand tailgate seals.
