These units do not have safetyfeatures that cause the motor to stopand reverse it if an obstacle isdetected during closing, increasingthe risk of injury. Do not useHomeLink with any garage dooropener that lacks safety stop andreverse features.Units manufactured between April 1,1982 and January 1, 1993 may beequipped with safety stop and reversefeatures. If your unit does not have anexternal entrapment protectionsystem, an easy test to confirm thefunction and performance of the safetystop and reverse feature is to lay a 2╳ 4 under the closing door.
