Multicast Filtering Commands4-2294mvr (Interface Configuration)This command configures an interface as an MVR receiver or source port using thetype keyword, enables immediate leave capability using the immediate keyword, orconfigures an interface as a static member of the MVR VLAN using the groupkeyword. Use the no form to restore the default settings.Syntax[no] mvr {type {receiver | source} | immediate | group ip-address}• receiver - Configures the interface as a subscriber port that can receivemulticast data.• source - Configure the interface as an uplink port that can send and receivemulticast data for the configured multicast groups.• immediate - Configures the switch to immediately remove an interface froma multicast stream as soon as it receives a leave message for that group.• ip-address - Statically configures an interface to receive multicast trafficfrom the IP address specified for an MVR multicast group.(Range: 224.0.1.0 - 239.255.255.255)Default Setting• The port type is not defined.• Immediate leave is disabled.• No receiver port is a member of any configured multicast group.Command ModeInterface Configuration (Ethernet, Port Channel)Command Usage• A port which is not configured as an MVR receiver or source port can useIGMP snooping to join or leave multicast groups using the standard rules formulticast filtering.• MVR receiver ports cannot be members of a trunk. Receiver ports can belongto different VLANs, but should not be configured as a member of the MVRVLAN. IGMP snooping can be used to allow a receiver port to dynamically joinor leave multicast groups within the MVR VLAN. Multicast groups can also bestatically assigned to a receiver port using the group keyword.• One or more interfaces may be configured as MVR source ports. A sourceport is able to both receive and send data for multicast groups which it hasjoined through IGMP snooping or which have been statically assigned usingthe group keyword.• The IP address range from 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255 is used for multicaststreams. MVR group addresses cannot fall within the reserved IP multicastaddress range of 224.0.0.x.• Immediate leave applies only to receiver ports. When enabled, the receiverport is immediately removed from the multicast group identified in the leavemessage. When immediate leave is disabled, the switch follows the standardrules by sending a group-specific query to the receiver port and waiting for a
