Routing elements121System functions and features as of R3.0syd-0367/1.3 – R3.0 – 03.20135. 3. 1 The Route’s Routing FunctionsThe route is allocated the following outgoing routing functions:• Routing an outgoing call to one or more trunk groups• Restricting the number of calls outgoing simultaneously• Polling an external digit barring• Deleting the exchange access prefix• Adding a prefix to the call number (where required)• Specifying numbering plan identifier NPI• Specifying how many digits need to be dialled before a call is set up5. 3. 2 Routing an Outgoing Call to a Trunk GroupUp to 8 trunk groups can be entered for each route (Trunk group setting). Within aroute the bundles are seized from front to back (small numbers first); within thebundle, the network interfaces from back to front (large numbers first). The seizuresequence is illustrated in Fig. 48Fig. 48 Seizure sequence for network connections in the case of an outgoing callIf both analogue and digital network interfaces are being used, one trunk grouphas to be entered in each route for the analogue interfaces and one trunk group forthe digital interfaces since a trunk group can only contain either analogue or digitalinterfaces.
