Normal Mode Operation for Port Control SignalsINBANDInband Configuration Channel - Used to enable/disable an 8kbps remote configuration channel. (See Figure 5-7 on page5-11). When this option is set to ON, the first time slotoccupied operates in 56K mode and the DTE clock rate isreduced by 8 kbps. The ESU LT uses this 8 kbps channel tosend and receive configuration data across an E1 span. Asshown in Figure 5-7 on page 5-11, this allows the PCconnected to the chain-in port on ESU LT A to monitor/configure both ESU LT A and B.The 8 kbps channel is only taken out of the first time slot. Iftwo 64K TS0s are mapped, the DTE rate would be 120 kbpsinstead of 128 kbps. This menu option can also be set toAUTO, which activates the Inband Channel only whencommands are sent from T-Watch to the remote unit (ESU LTB in Figure 5-7). If no T-Watch activity is detected for 10minutes, the Inband Channel is deactivated.The Inband channel is not available in unframed mode.Figure 5-7.
