31 INSTALLATIONCONFIGURATIONOPERATIONFurTherINFormATIoNINDEXInitial configurationTo perform the initial configuration, you need to connect the ALIF 2112T to an IPnetwork and use a computer located on the same network to connect to it.To perform the initial configuration1 Connect the ALIF 2112T to an IP network (using the VNC port) where a suitablecomputer is available on the same subnet (please see the section VNC network linkfor connection details).2 Use a computer connected to the same subnet of the network. On thatcomputer, locate and select the VNC viewer icon A connection details dialog will be displayed:options buttonProvides a range of viewer and connection settings - MORE [+]Enter the ALIF 2112T addresshere and click OKIf required, select theencryption mode5 Enter admin as the Username, leave the password entry blank and click the OKbutton. The viewer window should now open:Click the Configure buttonUse the various options(particularly the ‘UnitConfiguration’ and ‘NetworkConfiguration’ options) toarrange the ALIF 2112T tosuit your requirements.See Appendix F -Configuration menus.6 Click the Configure button to display the Configuration menu:3 In the ‘Server:’ entry, type the address: 192.168.1.424 Click the OK button. The viewer window may open straight away (if so continue atstep 6) or the system may require user authentication in which case an authenticationdialog will be displayed:Note:To ensure that the Configuration menu is correctly displayed within the VNC viewer, theALIF 2112T must be connected to the video output of its host computer.
