A 3110 MaintenanceWARNINGRisk of explosion!Faulty transmitters may not be placed into operation bythe user.Repairs must be performed from ABB service.For transmitters that are used as intended under normaloperation, no maintenance is required.No on-site repair or replacement of electronic parts isplanned.10.1 CleaningWhen cleaning the exterior of meters, make sure that thecleaning agent used does not corrode the housing surfaceand the gaskets.When using the device in potentially explosive atmospheres,observe the notice on cleaning in the chapter titled‘Protection against electrostatic discharges’ on page 12 .11 Repair11.1 Returning devicesUse the original packaging or a secure transport containerof an appropriate type if you need to return the device forrepair or recalibration purposes. Fill out the return form (seethe Appendix) and include this with the device.According to the EU Directive governing hazardousmaterials, the owner of hazardous waste is responsible forits disposal or must observe the following regulations forshipping purposes:All devices delivered to ABB must be free from anyhazardous materials (acids, alkalis, solvents, etc.).Please contact Customer Center Service acc. to page 2 fornearest service location.12 Recycling and disposal12.1 DisposalNOTICEProducts that are marked with this symbol maynot be disposed of through municipal garbagecollection points.This product and its packaging are manufactured frommaterials that can be recycled by specialist recyclingcompanies.Bear the following points in mind when disposing of them:— This product is not subject to WEEE Directive2012/19/EU or relevant national laws (e.g. ElektroG inGermany).— The product must be surrendered to a specialistrecycling company. Do not use municipal garbagecollection points.
