52 CHAPTER 3: INTRODUCING ROUTER 5000 F AMILY MIM S1-Port Channelized T3MIMMThe main functions of 1CT3 include:■ Working in T3 mode, the module can transmit/receive and process one channelof T3 fast traffic, as well as provide the accessing of T3 traffic.■ Working in CT3 mode, the module can provide the subscribers with thelow-speed accessing service at the speed of Nx64kbps or 56kbps, given N issmaller than or equal to 128.T3 represents the tertiary group rate of T system in the TDM system, that is,44.736Mbps. An E3 channel can be channelized into 28 T1 lines through thedemultiplexing processes of T23 and T12, each T1 line also supporting theoperating modes of CT1.
