14Using the HobThe Hob BurnersThe symbol on the knob corresponds to a symbolon the control panel (See description ofappliance).OffMaximum levelMinimum levelUse the maximum level for boiling and theminimum for simmering.Always choose positions between the minimumand maximum, never between maximum and off.Ignition of the burners• Push the knob and turn it left to the symbol “bigflame”.• At the same time, push the electronic ignitionknob (see fig). Keep it pushed until the gasignites (1 spark / second).Or by power cutPush the corresponding knob in completelyand turn it left to the symbol “big flame” andignite with a match.• Release the knob after 10 seconds and watchthat the burner has ignited (until the safetyvalve automatically keeps the burner lit).• Upon ignition, adjust the flame as required.If for any reason the flame should extinguishturn off the relevant control knob, leave for atleast one minute and then re-ignite.If after a few attempts the burner does not ignite,check that the burner ring and its cap arecorrectly positioned.Extinguishing of burnersTurn the knob clockwise to mark « ».Electric HotplatesTo switch on a hotplate, turn the relevant controlknob to the required heat setting.The control knob is numbered 0 – 60 – OFF1 – Minimum6 – Maximum.Normal HotplateWe recommend the plates are switched tomaximum (6) for a short while to boost the plate,and then adjusted to the required setting.Rapid HotplateThe rapid hotplate indicated by a red spot, willheat up more quickly than a normal plate.Over a period of time the red spot maydisappear, this will not affect the performanceof the hotplate.
