Chapter Three - Installation29Installing External Hardware OptionsThis section explains how to install the external hardware options available with thesystem.NoteWhen using the external floppy drive, do NOT attach the drive with a diskette installed.You may corrupt the disk.9000-EXF External Floppy DriveThe external floppy (9000-EXF) can be mounted on the back of the unit. There arefour screw holes on the back of the unit for the floppy mounting. A fifth screw holeis on the back for the cable clamp screw. See the Figures 3.4 and 3.7 of the backpanel and the bottom panel.Front mounting options are also available.NoteMake sure the floppy drive cable will reach the external floppy connector on the systembefore making the cutout.9000-FFK External Front Floppy and Keyboard Access KitIf you want to relocate the floppy drive to the front of the computer module, youmust install the 9000-FFK (Front Floppy Keyboard Access Kit), which includes afront access keyboard port. The floppy drive access door is provided for installationsusing the 9000-RFC Rack Filler Plate with Cutout, or panel mount installations thatprovide a cutout for the front mounted floppy drive.
