Switching On / OffXerox WorkCentre 5016/5020 User Guide32Power SaverThe machine has a power-efficient feature called Power Saver to minimize powerconsumption during inactivity. When the machine is inactive for a specified period oftime, it activates the Power Saver feature.The Power Saver feature has two stages: Low Power Mode and Sleep Mode.The machine enters the Low Power Mode first if it remains inactive for a preset periodof time. Then it enters the Sleep Mode to further reduce power consumption.Low Power ModeWhen the machine enters the Low Power Mode, the machine reduces the power to theFuser Unit.It may not be noticeable that the machine switches to the Low Power Mode, becauseno change is visible on the surface. When the machine is in the Low Power Mode, noparticular action is required in order to use the machine. The machine simply exits thismode when you press any buttons on the Control Panel or when you send a print jobor a scan job.You can specify how long it takes to enable the Power Saver feature when the machine is in the System SettingMode (menu number: 11). For more information, refer to "System Settings" (P.123).Sleep ModeWhen the machine enters the Sleep Mode, the machine further reduces its powerconsumption.While the machine is in this mode, the Display goes out, and the buttonis lit. To exit the Sleep Mode to use the machine, press the button.You can specify how long it takes to enable the Power Saver feature when the machine is in the System SettingMode (menu number: 12). For more information, refer to "System Settings" (P.123).Exiting the Sleep ModeThe machine exits the Sleep Mode in the following two instances:• When pressing the button• When the machine receives a print job or a scan jobThe following procedure describes how to exit the Sleep Mode manually.1.
