Do not operate chipper with PTO shaftcover removed. Keep hands, loose clothing, andlong hair away from drive line while it is rotating.W064The PTO on the tractor drives the chipper rotor. There is nocontrol on the chipper to engage/disengage the rotor, or controlrotor speed. Engaging the PTO starts the rotor to turn.• Always engage the PTO control slowly with the tractorengine rpm at low idle.• Disengage the PTO control slowly with the tractor enginerpm at low idle so the rotor slows to a stop before engagingPTO brake.6.2 Discharge ChuteCAUTION!Risk of injury from ejected wood chips. Chipperrotor can expel wood chips fast enough to causeinjury or damage. Direct chute discharge awayfrom work area, people, animals, and objects. W024The discharge chute has a spring-loaded latch handle thatallows the chute to be positioned at any angle, then locked intoposition with the latch.1. Lift the latch handle up until the chute lock pin disengages.2.
