The water softening system works on 12volt-60 Hz electrical power only. Be sure touse only the included transformer. Transformer must be plugged into an in-door 120 volt, grounded outlet only. Use clean water softening salts only, atleast 99.5% pure. Extra Course Grade orCrystal salts are recommended. Do notuse rock, block, granulated or ice creammaking salts. They contain contaminantsthat could cause maintenance problems. Keep the salt lid in place on the softenerunless servicing the unit or refilling withsalt.
