22USING THE TELEVISION AS A COMPUTER MONITORIMPORTANT – Before connecting thecomputer to the television you mustensure the computer settings arecorrect for the television. You MUST dothis using your old monitor.WINDOWS XP, WINDOWS VISTA1) Switch on your computer2) When finishing booting up right clickyour mouse anywhere on the screen3) Left click your mouse onProperties/Personalise4) Left click your mouse on Setting/DisplaySettings. Ensure the screen resolutionis set to what is shown in the technicalspecifications section toward the rear ofthis user guide. To correct theresolution to that of the television movethe slider.5) Left click your mouse on Advance/AdvanceSettings and left click on Monitor6) Left click on the drop down for Screen refresh rateand select 60 Hertz.7) Click on Apply, then click Yes and the settings willbe saved.8) Now switch off your computer and connect thetelevision (as shown below)9) Re-start your computer and switch the sourceto VGACONNECTING A LAPTOPIn addition to the above if you are connecting a laptopto the television you will also need to activate the VGAconnection on the laptop.This can vary based on the brand of laptop you have.1) Connect the laptop to the television2) On the Laptop push buttonsThe screen will now switch to the television.XP Screen VISTA ScreenXP Screen VISTA ScreenXP Screen VISTA ScreenXP Screen VISTA Screen+Fn F5
