Life time of battery is about 5 years (It may veryshorten depending on the operational environment).RTC and back up memory area has 2 power sources, this battery and the power supplied to PMIU unit. If unitpower is supplied, even if the battery is running out, these are not lost (these are backed up by unit power).If unit power is OFF and battery is running out, these data are lost. So, you should do following operation withthe unit power supplied to keep these data, and please note if you left PMIU unit without power supply for longterm.You can know present battery voltage by System tag SW 0007 (Battery voltage), and when the voltage ofbattery falls below 2.2V, System tag S0010 (Battery status) is turned ON. If S0010 is turned ON, you mustreplace battery immediately.To get new battery, please contact us. This battery is special one, the connector board is spot-weldedStep 1. Detach battery coverDetach battery cover from unit (Battery cover exists at the top of the PMIU unit). If you useexpansion port slot 2 of TRPMIU0300A or expansion port slot 3 of TRPMIU0500A, switch unit toHALT mode (write the value “1” to system register tag MW0000 or MW0003) and remove theExpansion I/O unit attached to the slot.Step 2. Remove old batteryBattery is installed in the back side of battery cover, and Battery wire is connected with theinternal circuit of the unit.So as not to misunderstand the old battery and the new one, you shouldmark old battery. Pull out the connector of battery wire from battery. Do not pull wire, hang thefinger on the projection of the connector, and pull it out straight. Then, Remove old battery fromthe battery cover. Battery is supported with 2 tabs and 2 pins of the cover.Step 3. Install new batteryInsert new battery to battery cover. Set the battery noting the direction of the battery and twopins. Then, connect connector carefully in the direction. The connector cannot be insertedoppositely. When inserting it by force, connector is damaged. When you connect the connector,install the battery cover in unit. Do not place the wire by the cover.Step 4. After replace batteryThe data of RTC and backup memory area will be lost. Before start operation, check and resetthese data.When you work with power ON, use safety equipments, and be careful to prevent hazard.To prevent unexpected battery run out, the recording of the time when you should replace battery, or therecording of the date when you replaced battery is recommended. It may help daily maintenance to stick thosedates on a PMIU unit with labels. |
