Drive SystemMaintenanceAdjusting the TrackingNote: The tracking knob is located under the seat.Note: Rotating this knob allows fine tuningadjustments so that the machine tracks straight withthe drive levers in the full forward position.1. Run the machine at 3/4 speed for at least 5minutes to bring hydraulic fluid up to operatingtemperature. Stop machine and wait for allmoving parts to stop.2. Engage the parking brake.3. Tilt the seat forward to gain access to thetracking knob.4. Rotate the knob toward the right to steer rightand rotate it toward the left to steer left.5. Adjust in 1/8 turn increments until the machinetracks straight.6. Check and ensure that the machine does notcreep when in neutral with the parking brakesdisengaged (Figure 50).g025157g025157Figure 501. Tracking knobChecking the Tire PressureService Interval: Every 40 hoursMaintain the air pressure in the rear tires at 103 kPa(15 psi). Uneven tire pressure can cause uneven cut.Check the tires when they are cold, to get the mostaccurate pressure reading.Note: The front tires are semi-pneumatic tires anddoes not require air pressure maintenance.g001055Figure 51Note: Do not add any type of tire liner or foam fillmaterial to the tires.Checking the Wheel-LugNutsService Interval: After the first 100 hoursEvery 500 hoursCheck and torque the wheel-lug nuts to 122 to 129N∙m (90 to 95 ft-lb).Checking the Wheel-HubNutsService Interval: After the first 100 hoursEvery 500 hoursCheck and ensure that the torque of the slotted nut is373 to 475 N∙m (275 to 350 ft-lb).Adjusting the Caster-PivotBearingsService Interval: Every 500 hours/Yearly (whichevercomes first)1. Move the speed-control lever to the NEUTRALposition to stop the machine.2. Disengage the PTO, engage the parking brake, shut off the engine, and wait for all moving partsto stop.3. Remove the dust cap from the caster and tightenthe locknut (Figure 52 and Figure 53).44
