maintenance machines. Issues to consider whenoperating are the traction drive, engine speed and theload on the cutting units. Regulate the traction pedal tokeep engine rpm high and somewhat constant whilemowing to maintain adequate power for the traction andcutting units.Follow operating guidelines presented in this manual andknow how to operate the machine safely on all types ofterrain. Use the slope gauge, page 34, to determine slopeangles of questionable areas. Hills (or slopes) over 15degrees should be traversed or mowed up and down, notside to side and hills over 20 degrees should generally beavoided unless special safeguards, skills and conditionsexist.Always plan well ahead to avoid the need for suddenstops, starts or turns. To stop, use the reverse pedal forbraking. Before stopping the engine, disengage allcontrols, move the throttle to IDLE, and set the parkingbrake.CAUTION: This product may exceed noise levels of 85dB(A) at the operator position. Ear protectors arerecommended for prolonged exposure to reduce thepotential of permanent hearing damage.TRANSPORT OPERATIONBe sure the lift arms are fully raised and the transportbracket is installed and secured with the retainer (Fig.13). Also, lock the rear cutting unit in the raised position(Fig. 14).While operating on slopes and uneven terrain, alwaysreduce speed and use extreme caution before turning toreduce risk of tipping or losing control. Watch carefullyand avoid holes in the terrain, sudden drop-offs and otherhazards. To prevent costly damage and down time, familiarize yourself with the width of the Grounds Pro2000. Do not attempt to pass between immovable objectsplaced close together.Figure 131. Transport bracketFigure 141.
