To disconnect the cord, pull it outby the plug. Never pull the cord itself.• Do not overload mains, extension cords,or convenience receptacles beyond theircapacity, since this can result in fire orelectric shock.• Do not use attachments not recommendedby the manufacturer, as they may causehazards.• Avoid using earphones at high volume.Hearing experts advise againstcontinuous, loud, and extended play. Ifyou experience a ringing in your ears,reduce volume or discontinue use.• Do not touch the AC power adaptor orpower supply box with wet hands. If youfail to observe this, it may cause electricshock.• Do not drop or give a mechanical shock tothe product.Installation• To prevent internal heat buildup, do notblock the ventilation openings.• Avoid operating the product attemperatures below 5°C (41°F).• Do not subject the product to hightemperature or direct sunlight. If you donot observe the above instructions, theproduct may become deformed and thescreens may become impossible to align.If you keep watching misaligned screens,you may develop eye fatigue. Follow theinstructions in “Using the Glasstron”(pages 15 - 18), to be sure the screens arealigned. If you find the screensmisaligned, have the product repaired atyour Sony dealer or local authorizedSony service facility.• Do not place the product in locationswhere it is wet, humid, dusty, smoky, orsteamy. Do not use this product near oraround water. It may cause fire or electricshock. Especially, do not use the productin the bathroom.• If the product is transported directly froma cold to a warm location, or if the roomtemperature has changed suddenly, thepicture may be blurred or show poorcolour. This is because moisture hascondensed on the lenses inside. If thishappens, let the moisture evaporatebefore using the product.• Do not place the product on an unstablecart, stand, table, or shelf. The productmay fall, causing serious injury to a childor an adult, and serious damage to theproduct.• Do not allow anything to rest on or rollover the power cord, and do not place theproduct where the power cord is subjectto wear or abuse.Others• Unplug the product from the wall outletand refer servicing to qualified servicepersonnel under the following conditions:- When the power cord or plug isdamaged or frayed.- If liquid has been spilled into theproduct.23 -GBAdditional InformationIf the nose piece is disconnectedReinsert the nose piece to its position.If the side pieces aredisconnectedYou can reattach the side piece.Insert the side piece to the inner side of thedisplay unit. Gently push until it clicks intoposition.However, reattaching the side pieces maycause a malfunction. Be careful not toreattach them too often.Window coatingTo avoid reflection, the windows are coated.Do not place the product in locations subjectto sudden temperature changes, or where itis excessively hot (above 60ºC/96ºF). Forexample, inside a car parked in directsunlight.The coating may develope cracks.- If the product has been exposed to rainor water.- If the product has been subject toexcessive shock by being dropped, orthe cabinet has been damaged.- If the product does not operatenormally when following the operatinginstructions. Adjust only those controlsthat are specified in the operatinginstructions. Improper adjustment ofother controls may result in damageand will often require extensive workby a qualified technician to restore theproduct to normal operation.- When the product exhibits a distinctchange in performance –– this indicatesa need for service.• Do not disassemble or modify theproduct. It may cause fire or electricshock. Have the product checked andrepaired at your Sony dealer or localauthorized Sony service facility.• Do not attempt to service the productyourself since opening the cabinet mayexpose you to dangerous voltage or otherhazards. Refer all servicing to qualifiedservice personnel.• When replacement parts are required, besure the service technician certifies inwriting that he has used replacementparts specified by the manufacturer thathave the same characteristics as theoriginal parts.Unauthorized substitutions may result infire, electric shock, or other hazards.• Upon completion of any service orrepairs to the product, ask the servicetechnician to perform routine safetychecks (as specified by the manufacturer)to determine that the product is in safeoperating condition, and to so certify.• Unplug the product from the mainsbefore cleaning. Clean the product gentlywith a dry, soft cloth, or a soft clothslightly moistened with a mild detergentsolution. Do not use any type of solvent,such as alcohol or benzine.Insert B to A.Windows |
