Then, press [/1 again to turn on therecorder., When static electricity, etc., causes therecorder to operate abnormally, turn off therecorder and wait until the clock appears inthe front panel display. Then, unplug therecorder and after leaving it off for a while,plug it in again.The disc tray does not open after youpress Z (open/close)., It may take a few seconds for the disc trayto open after you have recorded or edited aDVD. This is because the recorder isadding disc data to the disc.Any buttons do not function and“LOCKED” appears in the front paneldisplay., The recorder is locked. Cancel the ChildLock (page 14).The disc tray does not open and“TRAYLOCKED” appears in the frontpanel display., Contact your Sony dealer or localauthorized Sony service facility.“REPAIR” appears in the front paneldisplay., The recorder’s repair function is activatedto repair the hard disk drive or disc. Leavethe recorder on until “REPAIR” disappearsfrom the front panel display. Some datamay be lost even if the repair function isactivated.“E01” appears in the front panel display., There is a problem in the HDD. Contactyour nearest Sony dealer. Note thatcontents on the HDD may be erased whenservicing this unit.“E02” appears in the front panel display., The HDD information is incorrect. This is not a malfunction.Resetting the RecorderYou can reset the recorder to all its factorysettings.1 Make sure that the recorder is turnedon and remove the disc.2 Hold down x (stop) on the recorderand press [/1 on the recorder.All settings are reset and the recorderturns off.
