MISFEED REMOVAL2-24Misfeed in the paper feed areaMisfeed in the 500 sheet paper drawer1 Open the upper side cover.Push the blue leverupward and gently openthe cover.2 Remove the misfed paper.Be careful not to tear themisfed paper duringremoval.3 If misfed paper is not found in step 2, pull outpaper tray 1 and remove the misfed paper.Be careful not to tear themisfed paper duringremoval.4 Gently close the paper tray.Push the tray firmly allthe way into themachine.5 Gently close the upper side cover.After closing, confirmthat the misfeedmessage has beencleared and the normaldisplay appears.Misfeed in the bypass tray1 Remove the misfed paper from the bypasstray.Be careful not to tear themisfed paper duringremoval.2 After removing the misfed paper, openand close the duplex bypass/inverter unitto reset.Grasp the finger holdand gently open the unit.After closing, confirm thatthe misfeed messagehas been cleared and thenormal display appears.If the duplexbypass/inverter unit is notinstalled, close the sidecover in the same way.NOTEPaper misfed from a paper tray may be extending out of the tray into the right side cover area. If the tray is drawnout of the machine in this case, the paper may tear and become difficult to remove. To prevent this from happening,always open the right side cover first and remove the misfed paper if it is extending into that area.NOTEIf paper is loaded in the bypass tray, remove thepaper and close the bypass tray before opening theside cover.NOTEThe misfeed may have occurred inside the machine.Check carefully and remove it.
