LENS SETTING (LENS)C DAY/NIGHT settingThe DAY/NIGHT mode can be set to one of three settings (AUTO, COLOR or B/W) to improve the appearance of images. This lets you setthe filming mode to color mode during times of normal brightness, or to black & white mode to increase sensitivity when there i s less light. When you select a mode, you may then need to make detailed settings for the respective mode used.• AUTO: Automatic mode; The mode switches automaticallybetween color mode and black & white mode depending onthe luminance of the objects being monitored. (See p24)• COLOR: Color mode; Images are filmed in color regardless ofthe luminance of the objects being monitored. (See p27)• B/W: Black & white mode; Images are filmed in black & whiteregardless of the luminance of the objects being monitored.(See p28)Note: When “COLOR” is selected, the mode is fixed at color andyou can only view images that are in color. The sameapplies to B/W mode. However, you can also use theALARM IN terminal on the rear panel to force the mode tochange from COLOR to B/W or from B/W to COLOR. Referto the “Color/black & white selection setting” fordetails on the setting method. (See p59)Note:• A sound may be heard when the colour image or black andwhite image is switched. Also, the image will be distorted asshown in Fig. 1. This is normal and does not indicate aproblem.• When using infrared lighting, if there is a strong reflection onthe subject, the optical filter may switch from black and whiteto colour mode. Use only enough infrared lighting so that themode is not switched.LENSFOCUS MANU ‚ZOOM SET ‚DAY/NIGHT AUTO ‚VIEW ANGLE OFFPRESET OFFMENU BACKAUTO,COLOR,B/W(Fig. 1)English23
