23 - EnglishSettingsNetwork SetupWhen you connect this product to a network, youcan use network based applications and functionssuch as Smart Hub and BD-LIVE, and upgrade theproduct's software through the network connection.For more information about accessing and usingInternet services, see the Network Services chapterof this manual on pages 43~50. Instructions forconfiguring the network connection start below.Configuring Your Network ConnectionIf you didn't configure your network connection duringthe initial settings procedure or you need to reset thenetwork connection, follow the directions below.Before you begin, contact your Internet ServiceProvider to find out if your IP address is static ordynamic. If it is dynamic, and you have a wiredor wireless network, we recommend using theAutomatic configuration procedures described below.If you are connecting to a wired network, connect theproduct to your router using a LAN cable before youstart the configuration procedure.To begin configuring your network connection, followthese steps:1. In the Home screen, select Settings, and thenpress the OK button.2. Select Network, and then press the OK button.3. Select Network Settings, and then press theOK button.4. Go to the instructions for Wired networksstarting or the instructions for Wireless networksstarting on the next page.Wired Network Wired – AutomaticAfter following Steps 1 to 3 above:1. In the Network Settings screen, changeNetwork type to Wired. Then, select Connectand press the OK button. The product detectsthe wired connection, verifies the networkconnection, and then connects to the network.2. When it is done, highlight OK, and then pressOK button. Wired - ManualIf you have a static IP address or the automaticprocedure does not work, you'll need to set theNetwork Settings values manually.After following Steps 1 to 3 above:1. In the Network Settings screen, changeNetwork type to Wired. Use the :; buttons to select IP Settings,and then press the OK button. The IP Settingsscreen appears.3. Select the IP setting field, and then set it toEnter manually.4. Select a parameter to enter (IP Address, forexample), and then press OK. Use the 78buttons on the remote control to enter thenumbers for the parameter. Or use the Numkeypad to enter a parameter number. Press andhold the 123 button until the Num pad appearson the screen. When the Num pad appears,select a number using the 78:; button andthen press the OK button. Use the :; buttonson the remote control to move from entry field toentry field within a parameter. When done withone parameter, press the OK button.5. Press the 7 or 8 button to move to anotherparameter, and then enter the numbers for thatparameter following the instructions in Step 4.
