SectionD (Operating this unitPlaying songs on iPodFor details about the supported ,Pod, refer to,Pod® compatibility on page 6.You can use this unit to control an iPod byusing a cable (e.g., CD-1200), which is sold se-parately.Basic Operations• Fast forward or reversePush and hold MULTI-CONTROL left or rightfor about one second and release.• Select a track (chapter)Push MULTI-CONTROL left or right.a Notes• Read the precautions for iPod on page 50.• While iPod is connected to this unit, PIONEER(or../ (check mark)) is displayed on the iPod.• If an error message such as ERROR-11 is dis-played, refer to Error messages on page 48.• When the ignition switch is set to ACC or ON,the iPod's battery is charged while the iPod isconnected to this unit.• While the iPod is connected to this unit, thei Pod can not be tu rned on or off.• Before connecting the dock connector of thisunit to the iPod, disconnect the headphonesfrom the iPod.• The iPod is turned off about two minutes afterthe ignition switch is set to OFF.• When removing the iPod from this unit, thisunit is turned off.Displaying text information oniPod• Press DISP to select the desired text in-formation.Play time-song title-artist name-albumtitle• If the characters recorded on the iPod are notcompatible with this unit, those characters arenot displayed.® En)a Notes• You can scroll the text information to the leftby pressing and holding DISP.• When Ever Scroll is set to ON at the initial set-ting, text information scrolls continuously inthe display. Refer to Switching the Ever Scrollon page 26.Browsing for a songOperations to control an iPod with this unit isdesigned to be as close to the iPod as possibleto make operation and song search easy.• If the characters recorded on the iPod arenot compatible with this unit, those charac-ters are not displayed.1 Press LIST to switch to the top menu ofthe list search.2 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select a cate-gory.Turn to change the category; press to select.PLAYLISTS (playlists)-ARTISTS (artists)-ALBUMS (albums)-SONGS (songs)-PODCASTS (podcasts)-GENRES (genres)-COMPOSERS (composers)-AUDIOBOOKS(audiobooks)List for the selected category is displayed.• Press and hold LIST displays the album list ofcurrent selected artist. (This function can also beoperated from function menu.)• You can start playback throughout the se-lected category by pressing and holdingMULTI-CONTROL.
