14Precautions for InstallationInstallation work shall be performed in accordance with the technology standard of theelectric installation.This camera is designed to be usedindoors.This product is not operable outdoors.Do not expose this camera to direct sunlight forhours and do not install the product near aheater or an air conditioner. Otherwise, it maycause deformation, discoloration and malfunc-tion. Keep this camera away from water andmoisture.Installing placeDo not place this product in the following plac-es:• Locations where it may get wet from rainor water splash• Locations where a chemical agent is usedsuch as a swimming pool• Locations subject to humidity, dust, steamand oil smoke• Locations in a specific environment wherea solvent or a flammable atmosphereexists• Locations where a radiation, an X-ray, astrong radio wave or a strong magneticfield is generated• Locations where corrosive gas is pro-duced, Locations where it may be dam-aged by briny air such as seashores• Locations where the temperature is notwithin –10 °C to +50 °C {14 °F to 122 °F}.• Locations subject to vibrations (This prod-uct is not designed for on-vehicle use.)• Locations subject to condensation as theresult of severe changes in temperature(In case of installing the camera in suchlocations, the dome cover may becomefoggy or condensation may be caused onthe cover.)Be sure to remove this product if it is notin use.Shielded (STP) LAN cables must be usedwith this unit to ensure compliance withEMC standards. ** PAL models onlyBefore installation• The camera mount bracket described onpage 19 shall be used to mount the cam-era.• When this camera and camera mountbracket are mounted on a ceiling or a wall,use the screws described on page 19. Thescrews to be used are not provided.Prepare the screws according to the mate-rial, structure, strength and other factors ofthe mounting area and the total weight ofobjects to be mounted.• Ensure that the mounting surface, anchorand screws are sufficiently strong.• Do not mount this product on a plasterboard or a wooden section because theyare too weak. If this product is unavoidablymounted on such a section, the sectionshall be sufficiently reinforced or use anoptional ceiling mount bracket (WV-Q105).Screw tightening• The screws and bolts must be tightenedwith an appropriate tightening torqueaccording to the material and strength ofthe installation area.• Do not use an impact driver. Use of animpact driver may damage the screws orcause tightening excessively.• When a screw is tightened, make thescrew at a right angle to the surface. Aftertightening the screws or bolts, performvisual check to ensure tightening is enoughand there is no backlash.
