7• Places to avoidDo not place the unit in the following places:• Places exposed to direct sunlight• Places subject to having strong vibration or impact• Near magnetic field sources such as a television orspeakers• Place where condensation forms easily, where tem-perature changes greatly, humid places• Steamy and oily places such as kitchens• Places which are not level• CleaningTurn the power off when cleaning the unit. Otherwise itmay cause injuries.Do not use strong or abrasive detergents when clean-ing the unit body.Use a dry cloth to clean the unit when it is dirty.When the dirt is hard to remove, use a mild detergentand wipe gently.• Indication labelRefer to the indication label placed on the surface ofthe unit as to the indications of equipment classificationand power source, etc.• Handle the unit with care.Do not strike or shake, as this may damage the unit.• Do not strike or give a strong shock to the unit.It may cause damage or allow water to enter the unit.• Place the unit horizontally on a level surface.Do not place the unit in an upright position. Whenstacking multiple units, clear a space of more than 5 cmfrom both sides, the top, the bottom and the rear of theunits.• Avoid placing receptacles that contain liquids suchas water near the unit.If liquid spills onto the unit, it may cause fire or an elec-tric shock.• Prevent condensation from forming on the surfaceof the hard disk.If this happens, do not turn on the power of the recorderand leave the recorder for around 2 hours.Wait until the dew evaporates in any of the followingcases:• The recorder is placed in an extremely humidplace.• The recorder is placed in a room where a heaterhas just been turned on.• The recorder is moved from an air-conditionedroom to a humid and high-temperature room.• When the unit has not been used for a certain period,turn on the power of the unit (approximately once aweek), and perform recording/playback to preventinterferences with functions.• We recommend that you make a note of your settingsand save them.
