Ensure that the Digital Audio option in theSOUND menu is set to the correct AV input (see page9 for details). A message displayed in the centre of thescreen shows whether the signal is DTS or Dolby Digital,and gives a code indicating which channels aredetected (see table to the right). Subwoofer output is notlisted; if a subwoofer channel is detected then itscontents are output, (the subwoofer output level can beadjusted or the subwoofer turned off via the subwooferoption in the SOUND menu --- see page 9 for details).The volume adjustment sets the overallSurround output volume.When a DTS / Dolby Digital input is notdetected this option is shown. Choosebetween Pro Logic and Simulated. Themode chosen here dictates the next menuoption.If a DTS / Dolby Digital input is detected, or ifPro Logic is selected in Surround mode, thismenu option is Speaker setting, allowingselection of Normal, Phantom or 3 Stereomodes, as described on page 26.If Simulated is selected in Surround mode,this menu option is Simulated setting,allowing selection of Disco, Movie orStadium modes, as described on page 26.Allows adjustment of the volume for eachspeaker, as described on page 26.Allows setting of the distance from thelistening position to the front speakers.Allows setting of the distance from thelistening position to the rear speakers. If therear surround speakers are closer to you thanthe centre speaker, you may hear dialogue“leakage” from the rear surround speakers. Itmay be necessary to reduce the volume of therear speakers.If you do not have an external centre speakerconnected, set to On.
