The address translation table is owned jointly by all VoIPGateway Cards in the network. Therefore, whenever the address translation table is changed, it isimportant to update all the cards in the network with the latest information; otherwise VoIPcommunications cannot be established.It is possible, at one location in the network, to programme the address translation table that containsinformation for the entire network. The completed address translation table can then be distributedacross the network, so that all the cards share the same information (see "3.2.6 Downloading theAddress Translation Table from the VoIP Gateway Card", and "Uploading Address Translation Tableto the VoIP Gateway Card" in "3.3 Programming the VoIP Gateway Card in the Chicago Office").NoteThe address translation table created for the KX-TDA0490 can be shared with the KX-TDA0484and KX-TDA3480.The procedure below demonstrates the process of programming the address translation tablenecessary for VoIP communications between the Los Angeles and Chicago offices.The specific setting values are based on the table under "PBX Connection Information" in "1.2.2Numbering Plan Example".*1 IP address-to-telephone number translation can also be handled by using an H.323 Gatekeeper device.
