Do not use coffee beans that havebeen glazed, caramelised or treated withother additives containing sugar, since theywill block the brewing unit.If the appliance is being used for the firsttime or has not been operated for a longperiod, the first cup of coffee will not havethe full aroma.When using the espresso machine for thefirst time, you will achieve a suitably thickand stable “crema” only after the first fewcups have been dispensed.The factory settings of the fully automaticespresso machine are programmedfor optimal performance. After approx.30 minutes, the appliance will switch offautomatically. This setting, like manyothers, can be changed (see “Auto off after”under “ Displaying settings”).Important: Only use the appliancein frost-free rooms. If the appliancehas been transported or stored attemperatures below 0 °C, wait atleast 3 hours before operation.Important: If the drip tray is notin place, the appliance cannot beswitched on and no water flows outof the coffee outlet. The messageReplace drip tray appears.Do not press the power switchwhile the appliance is operating.First retract the navigation button(4) to rinse the appliance.The power switch switches auto-matically to O.Setting up the appliance1.
