In the event ofmalfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a pathof least resistance for electric current to reduce therisk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with acord having an equipment-grounding conductor anda grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into anappropriate outlet that is properly installed and groundedin accordance with all local codes and ordinances.nWarningImproper connection of the equipment-groundingconductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Theconductor with insulation having an outer surface thatis green with or without yellow stripes is the equipmentgrounding conductor. If repair or replacement ofthe cord or plug is necessary, do not connect theequipment-grounding conductor to a live terminal.Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if thegrounding instructions are not completely understood,or if in doubt as to whether the appliance is properlygrounded. Do not modify the plug provided with theappliance — if it will not fit the outlet. Have a properoutlet installed by a qualified electrician.nWarningWhen using electric appliances, basic precautions mustalways be followed, including the following:a. For a permanently connected appliance — Turnthe power switch to the off position when theappliance is not in use and before servicing orcleaning.h. For an appliance with a replaceable lamp —Always unplug before replacing the lamp.Replace the bulb with the same type.i. For a grounded appliance — Connect to aproperly grounded outlet only.
