18 ENGLISH5. Install the adapters to the tool or machine in thesame way as the battery cartridge.► Fig.24: 1. Adapter• For 36 V (18 V x 2) battery-powered tool ormachine, use the adapters for 36 V (18 V x 2).• For 36 V - 40 V max battery-powered tool ormachine, use the adapter for 36 V - 40 V max.• For direct connection type tool or machine,no adapter is required.NOTE: The direction of the cord of the adapter can bechanged in the range of approximately 180 degrees.6. Press the power button to turn the power on. Toturn the power off, press the power button for a fewseconds.► Fig.25: 1. Power buttonNOTICE: When installing adapters to the tool ormachine, be sure to install the adapter equippedwith 2 cords to the location shown in the figure.If you install the adapters incorrectly, the adapterequipped with 2 cords cannot be inserted all theway. Adapter with 2 cordsPutting on the unitCAUTION: Before putting on or putting off theunit, be sure to disconnect the tool or machinefrom the unit.CAUTION: When adjusting the position of thebase plate, be sure to lay down the unit so that thebattery faces downward as shown in the figure.Before putting on the unit, adjust the position of thebase plate to suit your body by referring to the sectionfor assembly in this instruction manual.NOTE: If it is difficult to slide the base plate, lift up thebottom of battery slightly so that the stand does nottouch the ground, and then slide the base plate.► Fig.281. Check the following:• The waist belt is in the recommended position.• The top of the shoulder harness and the top of theunit are level.• The unit fits your body tightly.► Fig.45NOTE: You can work comfortably when you put onthe unit so that the top of the shoulder harness andthe top of the unit are level.NOTE: When the waist belt is in the recommendedposition, you can firmly support the unit at your waist.Setting down the unitCAUTION: When setting down the unit, placethe unit on a flat and stable surface so that theunit does not fall.CAUTION: Before setting down the tool ormachine, be sure to turn off the tool or machineand make sure that the cutting tool has com-pletely stopped.CAUTION: Be sure to unlock the chest beltand the waist belt in order.Before setting down the unit, remove the tool ormachine from the unit.Unlock the buckle of the chest belt, then the buckle ofthe waist belt, and then set down the unit slowly.► Fig.46: 1.
