10 ENGLISH15. CHECK DAMAGED PARTS. Before further useof the cleaner, a guard or other part that isdamaged should be carefully checked to deter-mine that it will operate properly and performits intended function. Check for alignment ofmoving parts, binding of moving parts, break-age of parts, mounting, and any other condi-tions that may affect its operation. A guard orother part that is damaged should be properlyrepaired or replaced by an authorized servicecenter unless otherwise indicated elsewherein this instruction manual. Have defectiveswitches replaced by authorized service cen-ter. Do not use the cleaner if switch does notturn it on and off.16. REPLACEMENT PARTS. When servicing, useonly identical replacement parts.17. STORE IDLE CLEANER. When not in use, thecleaner should be stored indoors.18. Be kind to your cleaner. Rough handling can causebreakage of even the most sturdily built cleaner.19. Do not attempt to clean the exterior or interiorwith benzine, thinner or cleaning chemicals.Cracks and discoloration may be caused.20. Do not use cleaner in an enclosed space whereflammable, explosive or toxic vapors are givenoff by oil-based paint, paint-thinner, gasoline,some mothproofing substances, etc., or inareas where flammable dust is present.21. Do not operate the cleaner or any tool whileunder the influence of drugs or alcohol.22. Wear appropriate protective equipmentsuch as a mask depending on the usageenvironment.23. This machine is not intended for use by per-sons including children with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of expe-rience and knowledge.24. Young children should be supervised toensure that they do not play with the cleaner.25. Never handle battery(ies) and cleaner with wet hands.26. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.27. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.28. Do not use the cleaner as a stool or workbench. The machine may fall down and mayresult in personal injury.29. Keep all parts of your body and clothing awayfrom the openings and moving part like therotating brushroll. Otherwise they may be caughtin the appliance and cause injury.Battery tool use and care1. Recharge only with the charger specified bythe manufacturer. A charger that is suitable forone type of battery pack may create a risk of firewhen used with another battery pack.2. Use power tools only with specifically desig-nated battery packs. Use of any other batterypacks may create a risk of injury and fire.3. When battery pack is not in use, keep it awayfrom other metal objects, like paper clips,coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metalobjects, that can make a connection from oneterminal to another. Shorting the battery termi-nals together may cause burns or a fire.4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may beejected from the battery; avoid contact. If con-tact accidentally occurs, flush with water. Ifliquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medicalhelp. Liquid ejected from the battery may causeirritation or burns.5. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is dam-aged or modified. Damaged or modified batteriesmay exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting infire, explosion or risk of injury.6. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire orexcessive temperature. Exposure to fire or tem-perature above 130 °C may cause explosion.7. Follow all charging instructions and do notcharge the battery pack or tool outside thetemperature range specified in the instruc-tions. Charging improperly or at temperaturesoutside the specified range may damage thebattery and increase the risk of fire.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.WARNING: DO NOT let comfort or familiaritywith product (gained from repeated use) replacestrict adherence to safety rules for the subjectproduct. MISUSE or failure to follow the safetyrules stated in this instruction manual may causeserious personal injury.Important safety instructions forbattery cartridge1. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-tions and cautionary markings on (1) batterycharger, (2) battery, and (3) product usingbattery.2. Do not disassemble or tamper the batterycartridge. It may result in a fire, excessive heat,or explosion.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse themout with clear water and seek medical atten-tion right away. It may result in loss of youreyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-ductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-tainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain.A battery short can cause a large currentflow, overheating, possible burns and even abreakdown.6. Do not store and use the tool and battery car-tridge in locations where the temperature mayreach or exceed 50 °C (122 °F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even ifit is severely damaged or is completely wornout. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire. |
