19 ENGLISHRemoving the battery cartridge1. Rotate the lock lever, and then open the cover ofthe battery box.2. Pull out the battery cartridge from the battery boxwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.► Fig.26: 1. Button3. Pull out the lock key.4. Close the cover of the battery box, and then rotatethe lock lever.Machine / battery protection systemThe machine is equipped with a machine/batteryprotection system. This system automatically cuts offpower to the motor to extend machine and battery life.The machine will automatically stop during operation if themachine or battery cartridge is under one of the follow-ing conditions. A short beep sound is emitted before themachine stops automatically. The battery indicators andLED indicators blink while the beep sound is emitted.Overload protectionWhen the machine is operated in a manner that causesit to draw an abnormally high current, the machine auto-matically stops without any indication. In this situation,turn the machine off and remove the cause of overload,and then turn the machine on to restart.Overheat protectionWhen the machine is overheated, the machine stopsautomatically. Let the machine cool down before turningthe machine on again. The overheat protection is likelyto work under high temperature environment.Overdischarge protectionWhen the battery capacity becomes low, the machine stops auto-matically. If the machine does not operate even when the switchesare operated, remove the battery cartridge and charge it.Switching the battery cartridge► Fig.27: 1. Battery selection switchUp to two battery cartridges can be installed in thebattery box, although the machine uses one batterycartridge for operation. Before operating the machine,select the battery cartridge used for operation by press-ing the number on the battery selection switch.NOTICE: If only one battery cartridge is installed inthe battery box, be sure to select the battery box inwhich the battery cartridge is installed.Indicating the remaining batterycapacity on the battery boxCAUTION: Before checking the remainingbattery capacities or switching the battery car-tridge, be sure to stop the machine.► Fig.28: 1. The battery indicators correspond to eachbattery.Battery indicator statusRemaining batterycapacityOn Off50% - 100%20% - 50%0% - 20%Battery notinstalledCAUTION: When the battery capacity becomeslow, a short beep sound is emitted. If you continue tooperate the machine at low battery capacity, a long beepsound is emitted and the machine automatically stops.When you hear the short beep sound, pull the brakelever and lock the brake, and then switch the battery car-tridge to a charged one or charge the battery cartridge.When the remaining battery capacity runs out, the machinesuddenly stops automatically and this may cause an injury.NOTE: If you continue to pull the switch trigger evenif you hear the short beep sound, the machine stopsautomatically. After the machine stops automatically,the beep sound continues and the support brake(electric brake) is enabled. To cancel the beep soundand release the support brake, pull the brake leverand release the switch trigger. Do not push themachine forcibly without releasing the support brake.After releasing the support brake, you can tell whichbattery protection system is working by checking thebattery indicator status.► Fig.29: 1. Overload protectionCAUTION: If the beep sound is emitted whileoperating on slopes or the machine stops automat-ically on slopes, move the machine to a safe place,lock the brake, and then switch the battery cartridgeto a charged one or charge the battery cartridge.If the load is large, and the beep sound is emit-ted while operating on slopes or the machinestops automatically on slopes, do not move themachine forcibly. Lock the brake, pay attention tosafety and switch the battery cartridge to a chargedone, and then move the machine to a safe place.Reduce the load before operating the machine again.NOTE: You can check the remaining battery capacityeven if the lock key is not inserted. |
