7 ENGLISHBattery tool use and care1. Recharge only with the charger specified bythe manufacturer. A charger that is suitable forone type of battery pack may create a risk of firewhen used with another battery pack.2. Use power tools only with specifically desig-nated battery packs. Use of any other batterypacks may create a risk of injury and fire.3. When battery pack is not in use, keep it awayfrom other metal objects, like paper clips,coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metalobjects, that can make a connection from oneterminal to another. Shorting the battery termi-nals together may cause burns or a fire.4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejectedfrom the battery; avoid contact. If contact acci-dentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid con-tacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquidejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.5. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is dam-aged or modified. Damaged or modified batteriesmay exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting infire, explosion or risk of injury.6. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire orexcessive temperature. Exposure to fire or tem-perature above 130 °C may cause explosion.7. Follow all charging instructions and do notcharge the battery pack or tool outside thetemperature range specified in the instruc-tions. Charging improperly or at temperaturesoutside the specified range may damage thebattery and increase the risk of fire.CORDLESS FAN USE AND CARE1. Use the correct cordless fan for your application. Do notuse the fan for a purpose for which it is not intended.2. The appliance can work by Makita Li-ion battery cartridgedesignated in “SPECIFICATIONS” section in this instructionmanual or AC adaptor. Use of any other batteries may createa risk of fire. Recharge batteries only with the specified char-ger. A charger that may be suitable for one type of batterymay create a risk of fire when used with another battery.3. Store idle appliance out of reach of children andother untrained persons.4. Disconnect battery cartridge and the AC adaptorfrom the power source before storing the appliance,performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaningprocedures. Such preventive safety measures mayreduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.5. When battery cartridge is not in use, keep it awayfrom other metal objects. Shortening the batteryterminals together may cause sparks, burns or a fire.6. Unplug unit and allow it to cool before performing anyinspection, maintenance, cleaning procedures or storage.7. Do not allow familiarity with appliances to makeyou careless. Remember that a careless fractionof a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury.8. Always place the appliance on a level and stablesurface. If the appliance falls, it may cause per-sonal injury or damage to the appliance.9. Do not use any batteries, attachments or accessoriesnot recommended by the manufacturer of this appli-ance. The use of batteries, attachments or accessoriesnot recommended can result in serious personal injury.10. Keep hair or loose clothing like a scarf away from the fan.It may be caught in the fan and result in personal injury.11. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before pickingup or carrying the appliance. Carrying the appliancewith your finger on the switch invites accidents.12. Do not modify or attempt to repair the applianceor the battery cartridge except as indicated in theinstructions for use and care.SERVICE1. This appliance service must be performed only by quali-fied repair personnel. Service or maintenance performedby unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.2. When servicing this appliance, use only identicalreplacement parts. Use of unauthorized parts orfailure to follow maintenance instructions maycreate a risk of electric shock or injury.3. Do not incinerate this appliance, even if it is severelydamaged. The batteries can explode in a fire. Dispose ofthe appliance in accordance with the local regulations.Important safety instructions forbattery cartridge1. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-tions and cautionary markings on (1) batterycharger, (2) battery, and (3) product using battery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them outwith clear water and seek medical attention rightaway. It may result in loss of your eyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-ductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-tainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain.A battery short can cause a large current flow, over-heating, possible burns and even a breakdown.6. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50 °C (122 °F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even ifit is severely damaged or is completely wornout. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Do not use a damaged battery.10. The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject tothe Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements.For commercial transports e.g. by third parties,forwarding agents, special requirement on pack-aging and labeling must be observed.For preparation of the item being shipped, consulting anexpert for hazardous material is required. Please alsoobserve possibly more detailed national regulations.Tape or mask off open contacts and pack up thebattery in such a manner that it cannot movearound in the packaging. |
