Installing security featuresTo help prevent hardware theft and unauthorized access to your computer, severalsecurity options are available. In addition to physical locks, unauthorized use ofyour computer can be prevented by a software lock that locks the keyboard until acorrect password is typed in.Make sure that any security cables you installed do not interfere with othercomputer cables.Integrated cable lockAn integrated cable lock (sometimes referred to as the Kensington lock), can beused to secure your computer to a desk, table, or other non-permanent fixture. Thecable lock attaches to a security slot at the rear of your computer and is operatedwith a key. See Figure 30. The cable lock also locks the buttons used to open thecomputer cover. This is the same type of lock used with many notebookcomputers. You can order a security cable directly from Lenovo by searching onKensington at:http://www.lenovo.com/supportPassword protectionTo deter unauthorized use of your computer, you can use the Setup Utilityprogram to set a password.
