Calibrator Output Operations 2Keysight U1401B User’s and Service Guide 45Constant Voltage OperationThe U1401B can generate a constant voltage output in two different ranges, namely ±1.5 V and ±15 V.To select the constant voltage output function:1 Turn the rotary switch to any one of the (constant voltage output)positions.2 Press SHIFT to access the shifted operations of the keypad. Theannunciator will appear on the display.3 Press MODE to cycle through ±1.5 V, ±15 V, ±1.5 V, ±15 V,±1.5 V, and ±15 V output modes. Select either ±1.5 V or ±15 Vfor constant output (or steady output, as opposed to autoscan or autorampoutputs, which will be discussed under “Memory Generation” on page 47),depending on the voltage range you require.– Unlike the autoscan and autoramp modes, there is no special annunciatoron the display to indicate constant voltage (CV) operation.4 With the instrument in standby mode (you should see the annunciator onthe display; if not, press OUTPUT), you can adjust the amplitude of the outputby pressing and to select the digit to be adjusted, and then pressingand to adjust the value of the selected digit.5 Press OUTPUT to start the source output. The annunciator will appear onthe display.
