1 Calibration Procedures38 Keysight U1241C/U1242C Service GuideTo change the calibration security codeThis feature allows you to enter a security code to prevent accidental orunauthorized calibration of the multimeter. The multimeter will be securedautomatically after power off. Ensure you unsecure the multimeter by entering thecorrect security code before you adjust or calibrate the multimeter.1 Press for more than 1 second to enter the Changing Security Code(CSC) mode while the multimeter is unsecured (rEF mode). will be shownas the existing security code.2 Set your new calibration security code by entering any four digits ranging fromto .– Press or to move the cursor to the left or rightrespectively.– Press or to increment or decrement the digit respectively.3 Press to save the new calibration security code.If the new calibration security code has been successfully changed, willappear briefly, after which the multimeter will enter the adjustment mode.If the incorrect security code is entered, an error code will appear briefly, afterwhich the multimeter will prompt you for the security code again.4 Press for more than 1 second again if you wish to discard the change.5 Record down your new calibration security code and store it in a safe location.6 Exit the unsecured mode by pressing both and together formore than 1 second to secure the multimeter again.See Figure 1-6 for the multimeter’s display.ShiftEscViewHzMaxMinRangeAutoVsenseHoldLogShiftEscViewHoldLogShiftEscView
