The chassis should be powered up first, which will initiate its built-inSelf-Test. During Self-Test, the chassis STATUS LED will be blinking green(1 s on, 1 s off). The STATUS LED will blink green and then stay greencontinuously when the ESM is ready. The ESM then powers up each moduleslot. The remote host PC should be turned on only after all installed moduleshave performed their initialization—see your module documentation forinitialization information. An embedded controller such as the M9537A handlesthis sequence automatically.The method of powering up the chassis depends on the position of the INHIBITswitch on the chassis rear panel, which can be set to the DEF (DEFault) positionor to the MAN (MANual) position.
