– 8This high-pressure cleaner is suited to workwith the KÄRCHER suction hose with back-flow valve (Optional accessory, order no.4.440-238) to draw in surface water, e.g.from water butts or ponds (see specifica-tions for max. suction height). Fill the KÄRCHER suction hose withbackflow valve with water, screw to wa-ter supply and hang into the water butt. Remove air from appliance before oper-ation.Switch on the appliance without con-nection the high-pressure hose (max. 2minutes) and run it until the water dis-charging from the high-pressure outletis free of bubbles. Switch off applianceand reconnect high-pressure hose.CautionDry runs lasting longer than two minuteslead to damages to the high pressurepump. If the appliance does not build uppressure within two minutes, switch it offand proceed as instructed in the Chapter"Troubleshooting".Illustration Insert the high pressure hose tightly intothe quick coupling on the appliance, itwill lock in audibly.Note: Make sure the connection nippleis aligned correctly. Check the secure connection by pullingon the high pressure hose.Illustration Push the spray lance into the triggergun and fasten it by turning it through90°. Completely open the water tap. Insert the mains plug into the socket. Turn on the appliance “I/ON”. DangerThe handgun is subjected to a recoil forcewhen the water jet is discharged. Makesure that you have a firm footing and arealso holding the handgun and spray lancefirmly.Illustration Unlock the lever on the trigger gun. Pull on the lever of the trigger gun; thedevice will switch on.Note: Release the lever of the trigger gun;the device will switch off again. High pres-sure remains in the system.Carrying out the most common cleaningtasks. The work pressure can be stageless-ly regulated between "Min" and "Max".
